OMG you are soooooo right! Its terrible how people talk to each other online. Locally, there was a news story a few months back about a mentally disturbed man who was posting all over Facebook that he was God and ranting about all kinds of things, and he made the news because he ended up killing his aunt and uncle. I made the apparent mistake of commenting on the story, saying that it was sad that this person was obviously struggling with a mental illness (Hello, he thought he was God) and never found the help he needed. I stated that I felt for the family who were killed and those left behind to grieve them. I got ATTACKED by people. Called a racist (no idea how race comes into it…) and every name in the book. Apparently, my statement was grounds to be ripped apart by people. So I scrolled through other comments on the story, and no matter what was said, every person was being attack and trolled by others. Whatever happened to treating others how you want to be treated? Sad that people think its ok to treat each other this way.

Great blog post Lindsay! Social media could do so much good. Unfortunately, I think it does more harm. I’ve been taking a Lenten break from so much FB. Limiting myself daily to 30 minutes max and I feel so much better. I don’t need to read everyone’s b.s.
I’m glad you’re continuing writing the blog posts. You have a way with words……
